There’s no minimum spend required; you can plant trees as and when you’d like.
Pricing is affected by labor, local resources, infrastructure, size of the projects, and distance of the planting site from the tree nursery. Our goal is to plant as many trees for the environment as possible, while still ensuring maximum viability and impact. With that goal in mind, we do not mark up the tree purchase costs more than is necessary and pass those savings benefits on to our customers.
We send quarterly newsletters and impact metrics specific to your trees, updating you on the progress of our projects, as well as sharing the exact GPS location coordinates of your trees – feel free to look them up on Google Maps.
All your trees will be planted by our dedicated network of smallholder farmers whom we train on tree planting best practices. All your forest trees will be planted and nurtured by our network of incentivized youth groups we partner with across all our tree planting projects. These youth groups reside closer to tree planting sites across our projects.

Our projects range from an 85-98% survival rate depending on the project location. We work with our tree planting partners to plant trees as quickly as the planting seasons allow, to give them the maximum chances of survival.
Trees absorb carbon dioxide through the process of photosynthesis – absorbing CO2 from the air, releasing oxygen, and locking up the carbon until the end of the tree’s life. While all plants absorb carbon dioxide, trees absorb significantly more because of their size, roots, and average lifespan.
The amount of carbon each tree captures depends on the tree type, location, and life. We plant a mix of 10 tree species. Each tree captures various amounts of carbon over its lifetime (which ranges based on tree species). Each tree species enlisted on our platform includes CO2 levels to be absorbed by the tree annually.
We plant all trees during major rainy seasons based on our tree planting project location across Africa to ensure high survival rates. All the trees paid for shall be aggregated and planted at the same time, where you’ll receive a real-time update email once your trees have been planted. You will be able to track the status of your trees via a dedicated dashboard on your account.

Climaton is a for-profit business. We work with tree planting NGOs across Africa to fund the purchase of seeds, operate nurseries, conduct planting work, provide training to the local farmers, and protect the planting site to ensure a high survival rate—all this is made possible by the tree purchases you make.
